Top Holiday Events in Marana

From Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Year's, mark your calendars for these top holiday events in Marana, Arizona.

The Holiday Season means something a little different in Marana.  Here, December mornings dawn just cool enough that a hot cup of tea warms the spirit, but not so cold that your fingers stick to the steering wheel.  By the afternoon, the sun’s warmth makes it pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the desert. In the evening, curl up under a blanket and watch the stars.  Sure, we’ve got winter, but our winter doesn’t make you want to hibernate until spring. In fact, it makes you want to get out to these seasonal happenings in Marana!

Thanksgiving Buffets

Thursday, November 26th, 2020

Ok, here’s the thing about Thanksgiving.  You love the food. You love gathering with your loved ones around a delicious feast.  I get it. But you know what you don’t love? Spending hour after hour preparing your niece’s favorite side dish, or your cousin’s favorite dessert.  Thanksgiving is for celebrating with family, not toiling alone in the kitchen while everyone else has all the fun.

But you know what?  Some of Marana’s top restaurants have got you covered.  On Thanksgiving night, ditch the labor and feast on a chile-brined turkey, fresh carrots glazed with desert honey, and steaming butternut squash bisque, all served at Cayton’s.  Here you can enjoy all the rustic charm of a classic Thanksgiving supper. (Cayton’s will be closed for Thanksgiving 2020, however it’s a great restaurant to visit throughout the rest of the holiday season. Current public hours are Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 3:30 pm - 8:30 pm)

The Ritz-Carlton’s Forbes Four Star-rated CORE Kitchen and Wine Bar will have a Thanksgiving breakfast buffet. For lunch they have a Festive Three Course A La Carte Menu, while dinner will feature a Thanksgiving Festive Menu. (The Ritz-Carlton is doing Thanksgiving dinner to-go for 2020. Orders must be placed by November 20th.)

Black Friday Shopping at the Premium Outlet Mall

Throughout November 2020

Black Friday deals will be all month long in 2020. Shopping is available in-person or online, plus you can do curbside pickup, pickup in store, or make an appointment.

In Marana, Black Friday isn’t the only day for great deals.  The Premium Outlet Mall is offering huge discounts all of Thanksgiving weekend, and, let’s be honest, all year.  When they opened to much fanfare last year, we all thought the same thing: holiday shopping!  They clearly know us well, because they’ll be waiting at midnight on Friday, ready to quench our shopping thirst.  The mall will open at 6pm on Thursday and stay open until 2am early Friday morning. That’ll give you just enough time to catch a few Z’s before you're back at it Friday morning at 6am. Over the weekend, it will be open on Saturday, 8am-10pm, and Sunday, 9am-8pm.

With so many stores, though, it’s best to visit the mall with your savviest shopping team.  Spread out and cover more ground! Rendezvous at the Starbucks or grab a bite to eat at Market Hall.  Be warned, though: the mall will provide neither hand trucks nor fork lifts for you to carry all those gifts.  Plan of attack: make more than one trip.

Christmas on the Farm at Post Farms

Dates TBA

The whole family will enjoy celebrating Christmas at Post Farms. Throughout December, stop by the farm for train rides, a petting zoo, and even a visit from Santa Claus! However, the best part of Christmas at Post Farms is the beautiful light displays and the Christmas train ride. The train will take you and your family through a winter wonderland of twinkling lights and cheerfully synchronized music.  Don't forget to enjoy some hot chocolate and freshly baked goods from the bakery!

Marana Christmas Cruise

Saturday, December 5th, 2020

This year, the event will be a Marana Christmas Cruise, and cars can drive through the event route to see the light show and collect fun treats along the way! Whether your holiday memories are of a small town or a big city, the Marana Holiday Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting will delight the little ones in your family. It has the feel of a small town Christmas Festival, combined with a spectacular synchronized musical light show. This is a town that knows how to celebrate the holidays.

For more than 20 years, Marana has hosted this spectacular festival, replete with delicious food, talented performers, and festive cheer, and every year it gets a little bit bigger and a lot more fun. Marana’s Town Hall is the site for this unique gathering. Enjoy the Christmas Tree light show, snow play for the kids, great home-grown musical acts, food trucks, and more. This community event celebrates not just the holidays, but the spirit of giving and kindness that make Marana a special place all year long.

Tree Lighting at the Ritz-Carlton

You must be a guest to enjoy The Ritz holiday celebrations this season.

Everyone knows that you can’t celebrate Christmas before Thanksgiving, and the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain is no rule-breaker!  That’s why their Tree Lighting festivities will take place the week after your turkey feast, and what a way to pack in as much as possible into this holiday season.  Join them at this free event as they illuminate the largest tree on the property. Sip hot chocolate as you enjoy the melodies of the Tucson Boys’ Choir. Watch your children’s eyes light up as they marvel at this spectacle of cheer and joy.

At the Ritz, kids can even whisper their holiday wishes to Santa, who will be sitting just outside a life-size gingerbread house. This popular attraction drew tremendous attention last year as guests at the resort delighted at this fairy tale brought to life. As if that weren’t enough, just inside this magical home you can sit down to a complete meal, though advance reservations are required. The Ritz knows how to throw a party, so you won’t want to miss this special celebration.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks & Celebration at the Ritz-Carlton

You must be a guest to enjoy The Ritz holiday celebrations this season.

Bid farewell to 2020 with an evening at The Ritz-Carlton. Absorb the amazing desert and city views across the valley accented by glittering fireworks. Enjoy this moment: you’ve got the best seat in the house to greet 2021. The fireworks display will be followed by live entertainment and dancing.

Swing in the New Year at Topgolf
