Kitt Peak National Observatory

Kitt Peak National Observatory is a world-class astronomical facility located on a mountaintop in the Arizona desert, about 54 miles southwest of Tucson. It is home to one of the largest arrays of optical and radio telescopes in the world, including three major nighttime telescopes and 22 smaller ones.

As of July 2023, the road to Kitt Peak remains closed to visitors but a special overnight program is available. Visit the Kitt Peak website for more information.

Kitt Peak is owned by the Tohono O'odham Nation and the site is leased to NOIR Lab.
