Bike-Friendly Roads – Designed for cyclists, from beginners to pros. Roads are wide, smooth, and well-maintained with generous bike lanes. Many routes are low-traffic, and both communities are familiar with sharing the road, helping riders feel safe and supported.

Wide-Open Skies – Training happens against a backdrop of constant mountain views, open desert skies, and Saguaro-lined roads. The landscape itself keeps riders motivated mile after mile. Access to The Loop, mountain foothills, and Sonoran backroad are all right here.

World-Class Terrain Variety – From long, steady climbs like Mount Lemmon, Picture Rocks, and Gates Pass to rolling desert loops and fast, flat stretches for time trials — teams can customize every training block. Gravel and mixed-surface routes are easily accessible for multi-discipline riders.

Each February, we welcome some of the top cyclists in the world for the Tucson Bicycle Classic and Project Echelon Fondo Ride. Marana hosts the Time Trial while Oro Valley sets the stage for the Circuit Race, while the Fondo takes place in both communities.
