Marana Visitor Center 2026 Education Day: "Exploring the Film History of Marana"
"Exploring the Film History of Marana" Featured Speaker: Marty Freese
Marty worked at Old Tucson Studios for 20 years as a Film Historian as well as an actor and Tour Guide at both Old Tucson and Mescal Western Movie Sets. He also appeared in over 60 productions over the years in these locations.
His presentation highlights movies filmed through the Marana area, including the White Stallion Ranch, Lazy K Bar Ranch, Tucson Mountain Range and the Marana Regional Airport. These films showcase famous actos that worked in this region, such as Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed, Glen Close, Gene Autry, Ronald Reagan, George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Burt Reynolds, and, more recently, Lainey Wilson.
