Project Echelon is a UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) Continental Professional Cycling Team that educates, equips and empowers veterans and their communities through physical activity and self discovery. As an organization, Project Echelon removes the barriers to healing by fostering relationships between veterans, their communities, and professional athletes through mentorship, structure, and the promotion of long-term health and well-being through endurance sport.
As a Purple Heart Town, this mission matches the vision of the Town of Marana to support its Veteran community.
As part of their Gala Weekend in Oro Valley, the non-profit will be hosting a Gran Fondo Ride (a non-competitive ride of either 73.4 or 45.9 miles) with Veterans across the region on Sunday, March 3rd.
See the maps below for the routes!
Project Echelon reports that 300 riders from around the world are expected to participate in the Gran Fondo. Discover Marana is a proud sponsor of this event.
If you'd like to support the riders, join us Sunday morning, March 3rd at Heritage Park in Gladden Farms (12375 North Heritage Park Drive) at 9am. Riders are expected to start arriving around 9:30am.
