White Stallion Ranch Names Deborah Plum First-Ever General Manager and General Counsel
NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: July 14, 2025
The White Stallion Ranch has appointed Deborah Plum as the first-ever General Manager and General Counsel. A long-time friend of the True family and lifelong guest of the iconic Ranch, Plum brings a unique combination of legal expertise, nonprofit leadership, and personal connection to the Ranch and its mission. Plum’s relationship with White Stallion Ranch began at just two and a half years old, when her family first visited. Over the next four decades, the Ranch became a second home—one that would ultimately influence her personal and professional life in profound ways.
After earning her J.D. from Columbia Law School and establishing herself as a trusts and estates attorney in New York, California, and Arizona, Plum maintained a connection to the Ranch, regularly visiting while building her career. Her work included legal service for nonprofits, estate planning for family businesses, and tax strategies for high-net-worth individuals. In 2018, Plum co-founded BaseCamp for Veterans, Inc. (BCI), in conjunction with White Stallion Ranch, a Tucson-based nonprofit that provides equine therapy services to veterans and their families. Her commitment to service, veterans’ issues, and equine therapy directly aligned with the Ranch’s core values.
“Deborah has been part of the Ranch family in spirit for many years,” said Russell True, co-owner of White Stallion Ranch. “Her passion for our mission, combined with her exceptional leadership and legal experience, makes her uniquely qualified to lead the Ranch into its next chapter.” Plum's appointment marks a historic moment for White Stallion Ranch, which has been family-owned and operated for 60 years. As General Manager and General Counsel, Plum will oversee operations, strategic planning, and legal affairs while preserving the legacy and guest-centered spirit of the Ranch.
“I am humbled and honored to take on this role,” said Plum. “The White Stallion Ranch has shaped who I am, and I’m grateful to the True family for entrusting me with its care. I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence, community, and hospitality that has made the Ranch so beloved.” Plum resides in Tucson, Arizona, where she remains active in the nonprofit and equestrian communities. Her appointment represents a seamless blend of tradition and innovation, ensuring that the legacy of White Stallion Ranch continues to thrive.
