Al Gusto Coffee Company Honored with Taste of Marana STANDOUT Award
When Aldo Boccaccio started sharing coffee recipes online in 2020, he never imagined it would lead to a thriving mobile coffee shop — and now, a major local honor.
Marana, Arizona—When the world slowed down in 2020, Aldo Boccaccio’s passion for coffee kicked into high gear, turning his pandemic-era Facebook recipes and videos into Al Gusto Coffee Company — now the latest recipient of Discover Marana’s Taste of Marana STANDOUT Award.
What started as a small coffee cart has grown into a mobile coffee shop operating out of a Sprinter van wrapped in custom artwork celebrating Marana. Aldo serves at farmers markets, festivals, and events across Arizona, using every cup of coffee as a way to share Marana’s story and hospitality.
“Our winner is known for more than just incredible coffee,” said Curt Woody, Director of Economic Development and Tourism for the Town of Marana. “Over the past several years, he has built a business that is mobile, creative, and treats every customer like family. In fact, this business just celebrated five years, which is pretty unheard of for a small culinary business.”
What makes the award special is that nominations come directly from Marana residents to the Discover Marana website.
“This award means a lot to me because it came from my customers,” said Boccaccio. “Marana has been my home and my inspiration since day one. I’m so grateful to be part of this community.”
An avid cyclist, nominator Rick Leeman highlighted Aldo’s ability to make every customer feel valued. “There are three things that impressed me with him, his love of coffee, which I share, his customer service, which I am customer service oriented, and his love of God and his love of family,” Leeman said. “I am extremely proud to say I am the number one most loyal customer of Al Gusto Coffee.”
The Taste of Marana STANDOUT Award was presented to Aldo at the Marana Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on August 14th, 2025.
