Use the form below to submit your visitor-friendly event to be included in the Discover Marana Events Calendar.
Events Policy
Thank you for submitting your event for consideration! Note that our policy has been updated as of August 2025 and will be re-evaluated once per year.
Eligibility Criteria for Main Calendar Events
-Events must drive tourism and/or economic benefit.
-Must be unique, high-appeal, and physically in or near Marana. (examples are regional events like the gem shows, rodeo, etc, and events within the two-mile radius of the town)
-Preference for one-time or annual events; public accessibility is required. However, during summer and slow seasons this may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Examples include “Cool Summer Nights” at the Desert Museum which happens all summer.
-Must align with Discover Marana’s tourism brand and the specific goal to draw people into the community.
Excluded Event Types from Main Calendar
-Weekly recurring events like trivia, karaoke, or happy hours
-Small fundraisers and charity functions
-Instructional or educational activities (with some exceptions like photography workshops, paint and sip, Town classes and events)
-Business/networking events, commercial promotions
-Religious or political events
-Restricted or members-only events
-Any solicitation-based events
Submission Guidelines & Review
-Submit events at least 30 in advance. Submissions under 30 days’ notice may not get approved due to staffing.
-Include a compelling description, professional image (800x600px, min. 500kb), and event details.
-Please use proper punctuation, no ALL CAPS.
-Approval on the main calendar is not guaranteed and is at Discover Marana’s discretion. Some submissions may be added to the "This Weekend" blog rather than the event calendar.
