Meep Meep: Tucson Roadrunners x Marana Night

The Tucson Roadrunners hosted their inaugural community night with the Town of Marana!

The Tucson Roadrunners aren’t just about hockey—they're about giving back to the community. To show that commitment, they are piloting theme nights focused on local communities outside of Tucson and Marana was first up!

It was a night to remember as the Tucson Roadrunners hockey team featured the Town of Marana at one of their last games of the season.

The special night highlighted the fastest-growing community in Southern Arizona, offering hockey fans a taste of what Marana has to offer.

The evening began with Marana Police Chief Jeff Pridgett dropping the puck before the Roadrunners faced off against the Colorado Eagles at the Tucson Convention Center Arena.

Pridgett holds the distinction of being the first Marana officer to grow up in the town and become the Chief of the department, marking a significant milestone for the Town since being established in 1977.

In addition to the Chief, several Officers and Cadets attended to make connections with fans. The Town also had several tables set up with stickers, flyers, our Visitor Guide and adventure journals to help attendees explore all there is to offer in Marana!

Additionally, community partners like the Marana Chamber of Commerce, White Stallion Ranch and the American Red Cross were there to engage with the community.

After an action-packed night the Roadrunners won 4-3 over Colorado!

The Town Manager Gets Taken for a Ride--a Zamboni ride!

Town Manager Terry Rozema had a chance to ride the Zamboni at the Tucson Roadrunners' Marana Night!

He really got into it and so did the crowd! It was a great way to show the spirit of Marana.

Heading to the playoffs!

The Tucson Roadrunners, AHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, clinched a spot in the 2024 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs! Unfortunately, they lost two out of three games against the Calgary Wranglers ending the season.

ABOUT THE ROADRUNNERS

Entering their eighth year as a community partner to Southern Arizona, the Roadrunners play 36 regular season home games each season at Tucson Arena while calling the Old Pueblo home for 365 days a year; in which the team and mascot Dusty look to be involved in and giving back to everything in our community. Since 2016, the team has drawn over 900,000 fans to Downtown Tucson while 60 players have also played for the Coyotes.
