First Stop - The Good 'Ole USA - Bisbee Breakfast Club
Start your day off with a breakfast that's more American than apple pie at Bisbee Breakfast Club. This semi-modern, hometown funky, downright cozy joint serves up breakfast and lunch all day long. So there's no need to worry, unless you arrive before or after hours you won't have missed out on any of their amazing dishes. The first cup of locally roasted Joe is served starting at 6:00 a.m. and the last, licked clean plate of their house-made desserts are cleared promptly at 2:05 p.m. It's a popular spot, so if you get to wait for a table on the snowboard bench, take the time to decide first whether you're in the mood for breakfast or lunch. Then begin to zero in on which seemingly familiar dish conceived of and delivered with distinctly different twists will suit your mood.
Some of the more popular breakfast entrées include the Chicken Fried Steak served with house-made spicy sausage gravy and two eggs; scrambled Eggs Zorba combining spinach, olives, onions, tomato and feta cheese to deliver a perfectly balanced Greek delight; or an amazing combination of crisp corn tortillas, refried beans, scrambled eggs, chorizo and cheese called Chorizo Rancheros. (For the record, I bucked tradition and opted for the D's Potato Cakes, - house recipe potato pancakes grilled to a golden brown with eggs and bacon - UH-MAZING!) Each breakfast entree is served with any of several locally baked bread options including no-spread-necessary raisin bread, English muffins, and more super fresh options.
The most popular lunch dishes include the Reuben sandwich featuring house-simmered sauerkraut over Corned beef and melted Swiss cheese; and Grilled cheese and Tomato sandwich prepared with Swiss, Jack-cheddar, bacon and avocado. My server informed me that her favorite is the Coffee-charred Breast of Chicken Salad which includes greens, tomatoes, boiled egg, black olives and feta cheese. Note: I will not be distracted by the other menu items, the Coffee-charred Chicken Salad is next on my hit list.
As if these options weren't enough, there are the house-made desserts. There are different items available every day, so be sure to inquire as to what's in stock. The sticky buns are available most days. If you're into decadent, warm, melty, deliciousness, definitely give one a try. A slice of any of the Mile-high creme pies, fruit pies, and cheesecakes will never disappoint. It's always nice to take a slice with you as it won't take long to feel reminiscent of these delicacies. In fact, just to play it safe, call ahead and order a whole pie or cake for the road. You can do that! Trust me, the guilt won't last long.
